Thank you very much for your interest in an integration with protel PMS and welcome to the protelfamily!

You are now registered on SMP and approved as a protel Integration Partner.

What to do now?
Please read the following carefully and follow the steps laid out in the process.



We have set up a comprehensive process to create an integration with any third-party system. 
There are several ways to integrate to protel and we will find together with you the best one. protel will consider both of us as partner for this project.


Points of Contact at protel

For every step you will have a dedicated specialist available.

Until the certification starts the Services Market Place Manager will communicate and be there for you.

After the certification process started, you will get an Integration Specialist who will guide you through the certification process. 

And when your system is certified Partnership Management will take over and be there for requests and for your questions. 

Mandatory steps

Mandatory therefore are always te following three things: 

  • doing a Technical Requirements Call with us, so we can discuss all the details and answer your questions
  • send us your use cases, the workflow of your system and all other relevant information - the more we know - the better
  • finalising an Integration Agreement with protel about the Integration

Possible Actions on SMP

If you are the Primary Account, you are able to:

  • add Contacts,
  • add Customer or Prospect Hotels, this will ensure proper evaluation of the Integration Service you will make,
  • access Documentation and Help on the Services Marketplace, where you can find documentation and download links for our latest API Developer guides (see here: https://developer.protel.io/ )
  • create Integration Services, in order to have your solutions Certified with protel Property Management Systems.
    Go to http://smp.protel.io and sign in. Choose Development -> Service Overview -> New Integration Service.

Integration process steps

But now to the process: 

The first step probably was done by you already: 

  • Request to be registered as an Integration Partner by signing up at our Integration site. https://smp.protel.io 
    Please go to the developer part and register


Afterwards the process is as follows:  

  • Sign a NDA – (please download here:

  • We would need a detailed description of your use cases
    Please use the Google Form below

  • We would need from you a list of customers or prospects to help us make a business case for the Integration 
    (Please use this Google Form for Business and Uses Case)

  • You should identify a protel Air AND a protel OnPrem pilot customer. 
    This will allow us to certify both PMS in one effort

  • Please check the following pages to compare your use cases to the ones covered per message type and to prepare the Integration Agreement accordingly:

    NEW - Revenue Management Systems (RMS)
    NEW - Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
    NEW - Kiosk Systems (KSK)
    NEW - Central Reservation Systems (CRS)
    NEW - Upsell Systems (UPG)

  • We should arrange a call to discuss your technical requirements in detail

  • Then we can provide you with a Statement of work and estimation of effort for the integration

    You ensure the SOW accurately describes the technical details of the Integration
    If you are happy with the SOW, you can sign and we can proceed with the Integration.

  • protel will issue an invoice for the certification fee upfront.
    The amount is depending upon the used protocol and other details (I will explain this in our Technical Requirements Call)

  • You complete the development needed on your side and confirm back as soon as you are ready to start.
  • We will then agree a start date and proposed timeline for the Integration.

  • Then we start!

  • When we both have finalized the certification - congratulations:
    You now have a certified integration to protel. 

Post Certification steps


After the integration is finalized, we are going to help you get your product known to our distribution network.
To do so we need to:

  • Set up a Product eBrochure for distribution to our Sales network
  • List your product in our Services Marketplace Store
  • Arrange a Webinar so that you can present your product to our network of Distribution Partners
  • Do any joint business promotions or campaigns
